Morning Workout Rules to Start Your DayOur mornings can either be something that we look forward to or something that we dread especially when you hear your alarm go off and you have to roll off your bed just to get moving. Most of the time if we’re not really in a good mood when we wake up, we pray hard that our bad mood will disappear before you go to work otherwise it will be one hell of a day including working out in the gym. But you don’t really need to be a troll in the morning especially when it comes to doing your fitness routine early in the day, because jumpstarting your mind and blood can be done in just 5 to 10 minutes.

If you want to gain control of your mornings to have a better day, practice these morning workout rules and you’ll turn this morning exercise session into a ritual.

  1. You need to perform your workouts as soon as you wake up. Yes, you can have a glass of water or go to the bathroom to empty your bladder, but once they are done, you should start warming up and doing your fitness routine. Most likely you’ll be saying to yourself that you need to give your body time to adjust but you’ll be happier that you start working out early in the day rather than later.
  2. Prepare your outfit. Another rule that you should abide by if you want to do your workout in the morning is to prepare your clothes and shoes during the night. This will save you precious time because rather than wondering where you have stored your sports bra, you will already be heading out the door and going for a brisk walk or run.
  3. Your exercise must include explosive movement. Fitness experts recommend that you should have at least one explosive movement in your workout routine to have your heart pump more blood while at the same time strengthens your bones and muscles. Lunges, jumping squats, and even tornado jacks can be incorporated into your routine. Just make sure that you follow proper form when doing explosive movements so as not to strain yourself.
  4. Sleep early. Since you will be working out early in the day, specifically as soon as you get up from bed, you will need enough energy to get you through your morning routine. A good way to do this is to sleep early so you will be fully charged come the day.
  5. Include static stretch movement. You may be stiff as a board when you are starting your morning workout but this doesn’t always have to be so. Adding a static stretch movement to your routine is a good way to train those muscles and tendons of yours to extend themselves up to a point that you are comfortable then release. Keep repeating this every time you workout and you will find yourself loosening up and becoming more flexible by the day.
