What are Tendons and Ligaments?

Tendons are thick cords that join the muscles to the bones. These are flexible bands of fibrous tissue that attaches the skeletal muscles to the bones they move. Tendons enable you to move; as they acts as intermediaries between bones and muscles.

Ligaments on the other hand, connect bones to bones and helps to stabilize their surrounding joints. It is composed mostly of long, stringy collagen fibers that comprises of bands of tough, fibrous connective tissue. Ligaments are slightly elastic, so they can be stretched and gradually lengthen, increasing flexibility.

Cinnamon, Pineapple & Oats Smoothie Recipe:

This smoothie is rich in silicon, vitamin C, bromelain and magnesium which are anti-inflammatory and helps reduce pain. These nutrients also give energy and strength to the entire body.

Ingredients:

250 ml of water
40 grams of crushed almonds
40 grams of honey
7 grams of cinnamon
2 cups of pineapple chunks
1 cup of fresh squeezed orange juice
1 cup of instant oatmeal

Directions:
1. Cook the oats.
2. Pour 1 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice and mix.
3. Add pineapple chunks, cinnamon, almonds and honey to the blender.
4. Blend until smooth.
5. Add the oatmeal.
6. Blend again, until smooth.
