Researchers at Australia’s Macquarie University and other researchers found out that beta-carotene supplements give the skin a healthy glow. The researchers are now in the process of testing if drinking a daily smoothie rich in carotenoids that includes sweet potatoes, carrots, cantaloupe and romaine lettuce, has the same effect.

Glowing Skin Smoothie

Ingredients:
12 ounce cantaloupe frozen and cut into chunks
6 ounce carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
1 cup shredded romaine lettuce
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom

Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a blender.
2. Puree until smooth.
